Wow! This super-cute Arsenopyrite with Quartz certainly jumps out at me as a real eye-catcher, a specimen offering something just that little bit different. From the Yaogangxian mine in Hunan Province, China, this operating mine works a tin-tungsten deposit in the contact aureole of a Mesozoic granite pluton. Juxtaposed against each other, a 3.0 x 2.5 x 1.5 cm double terminated silver Arsenopyrite crystal and a 2.7 x 1.6 x 1.1 cm perfectly terminated Quartz crystal form a superb pair, around which a small cluster of Muscovite Mica and pale tan Siderite crystals reside. A choice Arsenopyrite complemented by Quartz, Siderite and Muscovite from the Yaogangxian mine.
