Tarnowitzite is the lead-rich variety of Aragonite and on this small miniature forms semi-translucent, snowy-white crystals which taper towards their bases and cover a thin, shell-like, crust of small rhombohedral Calcite crystals. The Tarnowitzite have a bright glassy lustre and range from 0.5 to 2 cm tall. Around the edge of one side of the base is a little bluish-green Malachite and smears of light to inky blue Azurite. A lovely compact specimen of lead-rich Aragonite, Tarnowitzite.
