A very unusual specimen of delicate pastel green Aragonite from the Flatschach area in mid-eastern Austria. Light and creamy, milkshake lime green Aragonite forms a mushroom-like stalactitic habit measuring 3.4 cm tall with a hollow tubular centre. Peering down this tube, the colour is seen to intensify, becoming an ever increasingly vivid lime green, with a glowing neon quality about it. This stalagmite strands vertically from a undulating plate of gently botryoidal Aragonite, ranging from cream to mellow lemon-limey green. Along the broken edges on the base the internal fibrous form can be seen, as white, silky, acicular crystals. It’s a most pleasing specimen with a subtle colour which is quite mesmerising when studied. The colour and morphology are very organic, analogous to some type of exotic fungi or sea anemone.
