When one thinks of Wheatley mine the mineral that usually comes to mind is Pyromorphite. However, great Anglesite - lead sulphate - crystals have been found too. This is more than demonstrated with this stunning Anglesite crystal. Reaching an impressive 2.6 cm in height, this sharp, bladed, orthorhombic crystal, is also glassy and bright. Sitting dramatically on a dark, rusty gossanous matrix, the spectacular crystal really stands out. In comparison with images of other Anglesite specimens from Wheatley mine online, the gossanous matrix is classic and the Anglesite crystal very large indeed. A superb American Anglesite from a classic locale.
