When we occasionally get specimens from the Monteponi mine in Sardinia, Italy, they are usually phosgenite, but this time we offer something not often seen, a fine Anglesite in a matrix of Galena. The Anglesite forms an intergrown cluster of colourless to milky, translucent crystals with occasional zones tending towards transparent. The largest crystal measures 1.2 cm wide while the whole cluster is approximately 2 x 1.5 cm. A terrific example of crystallised Anglesite from Monteponi mine accompanied by a Dr F. Krantz (Bonn, Germany) dealer label.
