Minerals from the world-famous Leadhills-Wanlockhead ore field in southern Scotland are becoming ever harder to obtain as they were relatively few and are much sought after and prized by collectors. This good example of crystallised Anglesite is attributed to the ore field in general, rather than specifically Leadhills (in Lanarkshire) or Wanlockhead (in Dumfriesshire). The Anglesite forms several colourless transparent to translucent crystals of between 4 and 5 mm lining a 2.5 x 2.5 cm vug in a mixed rusty Quartz veinstone and Galena matrix. A Scottish classic.
