A fine example of the now classic Andradite location on Serifos Island, Greece. Excellent, well-formed characteristic crystals of chocolate to light caramel brown Andradite measuring to 1.4 cm are intergrown over grey-green Hedenbergite with scattered prismatic crystals of white Quartz. Andradite is a member of the garnet group and has three varieties; Melanite, Demantoid and Topazolite. This small cabinet specimen would be classed as Topazolite because of its colour.
