A rusty coloured limonitic matrix, so typical of the Kamariza mines around and beneath the town of Agios Konstantinos in the Lavrion District of Greece, has excellent delicate tufts of chartreuse-green Agardite lining a vug and parts of the surface. The Kamariza mining district hosts four Agardite species, Agardite-(Ce), (La), (Nd) and (Y). This specimen has not been analysed, so cannot be designated as a specific species within this group. The colour is quite striking, making the fibrous acicular crystals contrast superbly against the dark-rust coloured matrix. The Agardite crystals are developed up to 1 cm long and an adjacent 2.2 x 1.0 cm vug is richly lined with emerald-green Malachite crystals. A lovely specimen form Kamariza.
