We are all familiar with Adamite from many locations and indeed it is always a great mineral to find or have in your collection. At some locations, the crystals develop beyond micro-size and enter a whole new realm of beauty. This was sometimes the case at Tsumeb, the now closed and flooded historic mine in Namibia and although this specimen is a small thumbnail, the crystals have developed beautifully to 4 mm. They all have a brilliant glassy lustre which makes the entire specimen sparkle and shimmer. Close-up they have gemmy outer faces of pale lemon yellow with leaf green edges, descending internally to a mottled cream and lime green opaque core.
