The inspiration for the Fanlight pattern came from the magnificent architecture of the Georgian period of 18th century Dublin, known as "The Age of Exuberance", when everything had not only to be functional but beautful. The main motif has been insired by the Fanlight over the Dublin Doors of Merrion Square. The elegant fanlight was so designed to allow the light from within to pour out on to the street to light the way of the owners returning from their places of work and also provide a warm welcome to arriving guests. The motif captures the magnificent sparkle of the cut crystal and is equally a metaphor for the warmth that Jim exudes to his patrons.
