{"product_id":"wulfenite-200","title":"WULFENITE","description":"This distinctive, older Wulfenite specimen, comes from a really unusual locality, one which has become almost entirely forgotten. Tecoma mine in Utah, USA was quite well-known during the 1970s, but appears to have been lost during the rush of Wulfenite discoveries in Arizona. It looks extremely delicate, but is surprisingly robust, comprising an interlocking 'web' of bright, golden-orange, transparent thin platy crystals of Wulfenite. For a lead-based mineral this specimen feels remarkably lightweight, owing to the amount of air between all of the thin platy crystals. The edges of many of the crystals are shattered surfaces, but the nature of this type of crystal form is that you never get perfect freestanding terminated crystals. At small cabinet size its bright colour and unusual texture stand out really well and this type of older specimen from Tecoma mine are now very rarely seen available.
