This striking miniature is from the Skardu District of Pakistan.  Much smaller Spessartine crystals to 4 mm are dotted over the Feldspar and protruding from this is a prominent prismatic crystal of black Schorl Tourmaline.  This measures to 4.5 cm tall with vertically striated prism faces and a part termination.  The termination is incomplete due to natural contacts and insufficient accommodation space.
