Another factor is that many Berg Aukas Smithsonite specimens got transported to Tsumeb where they were sold to collectors, who mistakenly assumed that they were from Tsumeb mine. This fine 'spiky' miniature Smithsonite actually overgrows thin blades of orange-brown Descloizite which confirms its correct provenance to Berg Aukas. The Smithsonite crystals are sharp narrow colourless to white, glassy rhombs clustered in small radiating sprays which makes for a distinctive display.
