Although antimony minerals do occur here, neither Semseyite or Jamesonite are recoded from Cavnic, yet do occur at the relatively nearby mine of Herja, some 12 km to the north west. We suspect this specimen is probably from Herja mine but have left it labelled as Cavnic in case these species really are found here.  Semseyite is a lead antimony sulphide and Jamesonite an iron antimony sulphide; alternatively they may be termed as lead and iron sulphosalts.
