Whether that is a true reflection of the geology within the deposit is not known, as it may just be the way specimens were selected for sale. Certainly, the dark colour of the Scheelite combined with the grey-black Ferberite matrix masks the overall quality of these Scheelite crystals, which are exceptionally reflective for the species. This in turn makes this a rather unusual piece and worthy of a more detailed look. The largest Scheelite crystal reaches 1.5 cm tall, with other smaller crystals developed within the mass of Ferberite. The Scheelite crystals are extremely sharp across their front face, or faces, but by the nature of their growth - attached to the bladed Ferberite - they are all missing their rear, where they attach to the Ferberite matrix. It is, nevertheless, a very nicely crystallized Scheelite, and with exceptional glassy lustre.
