The perfectly developed twin crystal measures 5.0 x 6.8 x 1.5 cm and displays the textbook characteristic flattened tabular form.  The photograph clearly shows the two portions of the Japan-Law twin are asymmetric.  The Quartz is colourless and mainly transparent, just clouded slightly by a frosted surface.
