{"product_id":"pyromorphite-414","title":"PYROMORPHITE","description":"Wheal Alfred near Hayle in Cornwall is one of the most famous Pyromorphite localities in the UK. The reason for this is the extreme 'wet' lustre presented by the crystals and the fact that when it was discovered at Wheal Alfred, in 1826, it represented a stratospheric shift upwards in quality for any British Pyromorphite (remembering that this was ten or twenty years before the great discoveries at Roughton Gill). This super-lustrous miniature Pyromorphite specimen from this classic Cornish location features fine yellow-green translucent crystals of Pyromorphite pleasingly clustered over ferruginous Quartz matrix. It displays doubly terminated crystals with lots of curving parallel to the prism faces to give a seed-like form. A small, but extremely fine Pyromorphite from Wheal Alfred, the like of which are rarely seen for sale in this quality.
