Discovered in 1999 to 2000, this remarkable find is now regarded as one of, if not the, most important Pyromorphite deposit ever encountered. As with all Pyromorphite deposits there is always some variation across the oxidation zone and this incredibly rich large display specimen is quite different to the waxy, glossy, yellow-green, hoppered, hexagonal crystals for which Daoping mine is also renowned, but as a pure, matrixless growth of smaller, organic-like, aggregated crystals this is absolutely stunning, and in incredible shape for what can be quite a delicate mineral species.
