This very large miniature Pyrargyrite from Freiberg, Erzgebirge, Saxony, Germany has a huge amount going for it. Not only is it from one of the all-time classic silver-mining regions, but it is extremely rich in wonderful Pyrargyrite crystals. The individual crystals reach 4 mm across and form short prisms with domed summits in a compact aggregate approximately 2 x 2 x 2 cm in extent attached to Calcite matrix. There is slight contact damage to several of the Pyrargyrite crystals, but many are pristine and all possess a wonderful greasy lustre\/patina. Their colour is a very deep purple and exude class.
