{"product_id":"native-gold-84","title":"NATIVE GOLD","description":"A large thumbnail specimen of a 'modern' British classic. Native Gold specimens from Hope's Nose are usually high up on the list of wants for collectors of British minerals. Originally discovered on a field trip from Kings College (London) in 1922, the occurrence was forgotten about until mineral collectors rediscovered the site in the late 1970s.  Hosted in Devonian limestones, the mineralized veins have been found to contain many rare minerals, including one new species, the most famous and collectable being Native Gold.  Collecting is now totally illegal and strictly banded at the site, a coastal outcrop at the eastern extremity of Torquay, a popular and beautiful holiday town.  The allure of Native Gold from Hope's Nose is its wonderful arborescent form, displayed when it is partly etched out from its creamy Calcite matrix. Good specimens are increasingly difficult to obtain due to high demand and relatively scarce supply, whose source is now limited to specimens in existing collections. This specimen displays an area of arborescent Native Gold 10 mm in length by 4 mm wide.","brand":"Crystal Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46549890400431,"sku":"CC42554","price":650.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0710\/8516\/2671\/files\/CC42554.png?v=1770649699","url":"https:\/\/crystalclassics.com\/products\/native-gold-84","provider":"Crystal Classics","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
