This rich and heavy miniature is from the famous Cobalt Lode, one of several ENE-trending lodes worked by Wheal Sparnon at Redruth in Cornwall.  The surface works of Wheal Sparnon were close to the centre of Redruth; now the site is long since completely built over, lying between the confluence of Falmouth Road and Clinton Road.
