This specimen is from the Tsumeb mine in the Oshikoto Region of Namibia.  Carbonate minerals dominate at Tsumeb because of the karstic environment in which the ore pipe formed.  The Malachite forms a roughly 3.5 x 1.5 x 1.0 cm elongated dome of dark emerald green with a micro-terminated surface of deep bottle green.
