The Meteorite displays a classic outer shell of rusty brown iron-oxide and has been cut and polished on one surface to reveal its solid metal interior.  It is classified as a Group IV A, iron, fine octahedrite containing the elements Fe, Ni, Co, P, Ir, Ga and Ge.  Gibeon was a prehistoric fall and specimens were first found in 1836 by Captain J. E. Alexander who sent them to London for analysis.
