{"product_id":"fluorite-and-quartz-on-muscovite","title":"FLUORITE and QUARTZ on MUSCOVITE","description":"This attractive small cabinet-sized display specimen of Fluorite and Muscovite is instantly recognizable as from the pegmatites of the Hunza Valley in Gilgit-Baltistan, Pakistan. More specifically it is from mines perched atop cliffs near the village of Chumar Bakhoor at 4600 m above sea level. Fine crystallized pegmatite specimens started to reach the outside world from these remote mines in the early 2000s and are now considered classics. Due to the method of mining and isolation from major civilization few perfect specimens make it out intact. This very showy, well-balanced matrix-hosted specimen comprises a bed of fine-grained granite coated with the classic cream-coloured rosetted blades of Muscovite. Upon this, amongst the Muscovite crystals, is a colourless, 3 cm wide, complex, modified cubo-octahedral Fluorite crystal along with a couple of small sherry-coloured terminated Quartz crystals. The Fluorite crystal shows one internal cleavage plane at a shallow angle but there is no obvious external damage. Infact, all of the crystals are all in excellent overall condition and display extremely well as a Chumar Bakhoor classic.
