It comes from Xianghualing, Linwu County, Chenzhou Prefecture, Hunan Province. What is not clear is whether it is Xianghualing mine, or the wider Xianghualing orefield. Xianghualing mine is certainly famous for fine Fluorite specimens and has been since the 1990s, but its trademark crystals are pale greenish glassy cubes rather than the frosted white octahedra liberally carpeting this fine specimen.
