At this point on the map the counties of Cumbria, Durham and Northumberland meet at a 'triple point' and Allenheads mine just falls into the southerly tip of Northumberland.  Often the Fluorite from here is colourless, but sometimes, as in this specimen, takes on a pleasing purple hue which intensifies around the crystal edges.  Towards one end the Fluorite crystals are preferentially dusted with micro creamy Dolomite crystals.
