The cubic crystals are almost entirely interpenetrant twins and measure up to 2 cm on edge.  They are essentially translucent, but tend to have transparent edges with a certain amount of zoning, this occurring as differing shades of green to almost colourless.  The Galena crystals a tarnished to metallic mid-grey and adopt various combinations of the cube and octahedron.
