{"product_id":"elbaite-32","title":"ELBAITE","description":"As gem tourmalines go this is a really rather funky multicoloured Brazilian 'blue-cap' miniature, with a twist. From the modern discoveries at Barra de Salinas near Coronel Murta in the Jequitinhonha Valley, Minas Gerais, it presents a fantastic juxaposition between two broadly equal length crystals offset in their parallel growth with contrasting styles of termination and subtle differences in colour. Both crystals have cleanly fractured bases, but offset by about 1 cm between each other, and strawberry-red lower and middle sections. The lower of the two crystals is tricoloured, passing from its strawberry-red lower half  upwards rapidly into a striking teal-blue transparent band and into an extremely dark inky-blue sloping termination. This is a classic tourmaline-style three-sided pyramidal termination but is much exaggerated in one of its faces, thus giving the impression of a single sloping face, although the other two are present, just very small. There is one small chip to the corner of this termination, but it does not detract too much from its undoubted quality. The second tourmaline crystal is a proper 'blue-cap', strawberry-red for over 90 percent of its length and then vivid electric-blue, terminated with a smooth flat pinacoid face. With appropriate directional lighting this crystal grouping is sensationally colourful, making an exquisite miniature. No repairs.","brand":"Crystal Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46792086093999,"sku":"CC20644","price":4500.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0710\/8516\/2671\/files\/CC20644_Elbaite_Barra_de_Salinas_Brazil_ANB2578ed.jpg?v=1785159317","url":"https:\/\/crystalclassics.com\/products\/elbaite-32","provider":"Crystal Classics","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
