Beaten to the Type Locality status by just a few years by Frohnbach in Baden-Württemberg, Germany, in 1797, the St. Andreasberg crystals are far more spectacular in their presentation. Although miniature in size, this stunning Dyscrasite crystal group from the famous (and ancient) Samson mine at St. Andreasberg is a revelation, what I would term a 'proper' historic piece. It is from the superb systematic collection assembled by the brothers Martin and Michael Günther (1951-2007 \u0026amp; 1956-2021) and is so classy. The pitted, naturally etched tips to the crystals is iconically St. Andreasberg and so wonderful to see in this quality of preservation.
