Gem Diopside crystals are extremely rare, especially in anything approaching a visible size, but this one is magnificent in both size (4.3 cm tall) and perhaps more importantly colour - a zingy intensely saturated lime green colour. The main crystal is a fine prism, perfectly terminated with a somewhat pyramidal tip. Another equally vibrant Diopside crystal cuts cross its lower half, and traces of silvery-grey Graphite are present near its base. This is an extremely attractive world-class miniature specimen of Diopside, the colour coming from traces of chromian within this deposit.
