{"product_id":"cornetite","title":"CORNETITE","description":"Cornetite is a very rare secondary copper species - a hydroxide of copper phosphate which has most of its best known occurrences in the Democratic Republic of Congo where it was first described in the early years of the 20th century. Typically seen as bright blue well-formed individual microcrystals and flattened radiating discs upon joint planes, this spectacular large cabinet-sized display specimen is one of the finest examples of this rare species in existence. It comes from the Star of the Congo mine at Lubumbashi, Katanga, which is the Type Locality - the mine continues to operate well over a century since it opened with sporadic finds of Cornetite reported. Forming attractive deep blue velvety botryoidal growths with layered colours progressing through the specimen to greener underneath (possibly Pseudomalachite) the aesthetics of this piece are superb. Legend has it that a single pocket was discovered in the 1990s of such brightness that it was given the name, the \"Sparkly Pocket\". Of the few pieces I have seen from it, they have a very similar form, but only this specimen is significantly larger. An absolute beauty and a rare species too - the perfect combination. It comes with a custom-made acryllic Sunnywood display stand to show off its magnificent form to the maximum.","brand":"Crystal Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46613886894255,"sku":"CC26199","price":20000.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0710\/8516\/2671\/files\/CC26199.png?v=1772707188","url":"https:\/\/crystalclassics.com\/products\/cornetite","provider":"Crystal Classics","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
