{"product_id":"cobaltoan-calcite-with-malachite-1","title":"Cobaltoan CALCITE with MALACHITE","description":"Very different to other Cobaltoan Calcite crystal forms that we have seen from the famous Mashamba West mine, this dense cabinet-sized piece features a large open cavity lined with sugary, pale pink, frosted, sharp scalenohedral crystals to 1.2 cm in length, although most are in the 4-6 mm size range. Underneath these crystals the Calcite shows a more intense pink colour where it overgrows a layer of dark brown botryoidal Goethite which lines the original cavity. Two small patches of dark green crystallized Malachite sit upon the surface of the Cobaltoan Calcite at either end of the cavity. Although collectors are often drawn to the vivid, neon-pink, glossy Cobaltoan Calcite from the DR Congo this alternative style is very nice too, and not quite so 'in your face' bright. With an area of the underlying Goethite exposed in one corner of the display surface it provides a very lovely contrast in colour and texture.
