{"product_id":"cobaltoan-calcite-with-kolwezite","title":"Cobaltoan CALCITE with KOLWEZITE","description":"Forming a flower-like divergent spray of quite large scalenohedral crystals, this slightly subdued pink Cobaltoan Calcite hides a greater intensity of colour inside, in certain individual growth layers. Externally, the scalenohedral crystals surfaces are quite silky in appearance, with complex stepped faces, but also naturally pitted in places, where they are studded with small spherical sprays of brassy, golden-brown, silky, Kolwezite. Indeed, where the Kolwezite has formed it appears to have dissolved slightly the outer surface of the Calcite with the velvety sprays sunken within the surface. A few larger Kolwezite aggregates appear to be replacing an earlier mineral, possibly Chalcopyrite. This is not only an intriguing geochemical specimen, but a colourful one too. The largest scalenohedral Calcite crystal reaches 5 cm in length, but a few have their terminations cleaved, or chipped. Nevertheless, it is a Congolese classic with a unique combination of species - Kolwezite and pink Cobaltoan Calcite not being known together from anywhere other than the DR Congo - and is a good size for display. Underneath the specimen the brighter, more intense cerise-pink colour of the Calcite can be seen, along with paler pink layers too.","brand":"Crystal Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":47460620959919,"sku":"CC63531","price":1200.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0710\/8516\/2671\/files\/CC63531.png?v=1788863664","url":"https:\/\/crystalclassics.com\/products\/cobaltoan-calcite-with-kolwezite","provider":"Crystal Classics","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
