{"product_id":"cobaltoan-calcite-27","title":"Cobaltoan CALCITE","description":"Cobaltoan Calcite, a variety of Calcite containing traces of cobalt, is one of the most colourful minerals that nature has provided. Its striking neon-pink colour is totally at odds to the usual colourless or cream colour of Calcite. In terms of supply, there are only a handful of localities in the world known to have produced vivid pink Cobaltoan Calcite and most of these are in Africa - either in Morocco or the Democratic Republic of Congo. This very pretty larger miniature specimen comes from the latter country, and specifically from Mashamba West mine, which through its long history is the premier source of this beautiful variety of Calcite. This very colourful smaller display piece is totally covered in smaller (4 to 5 mm wide), rounded crystals, like multifaceted gems due to the number of crystal faces. Slightly more translucent than transparent, these are nevertheless very gemmy individual crystals and are in very fine condition with a slightly pearlescent lustre. Underneath, they coat what appears to be a bed of colour-zoned Dolomite on pale pink Calcite on botryoidal Goethite. The Dolomite, seen in cross-section around the sides of the specimen, grades from cream into a shockingly bright pink which lies directly beneath the Cobaltoan Calcite. A very charming, pink Cobaltoan Calcite.","brand":"Crystal Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":50575897788591,"sku":"CC64749","price":550.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0710\/8516\/2671\/files\/CC64749.png?v=1791207813","url":"https:\/\/crystalclassics.com\/products\/cobaltoan-calcite-27","provider":"Crystal Classics","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
