{"product_id":"chalcocite-67","title":"CHALCOCITE","description":"Known since the 1970s, but rarely seen outside of major museum collections the Chalcocite crystals discovered in copper workings near the village of M'Passa in Mindouli District, Pool Department, Republic of the Congo represented some of the world's largest Chalcocite crystals with crystals to 3 cm across. Reopening of mines in this area in 2021, resulted in the rediscovery of world-class Chalcocite crystals in large aggregates, with more aesthetic appeal than their 1970s counterparts. The crystals take the form of thin hexagonal platy crystals with sectile layers and this large miniature specimen is a stunning example with excellent freestanding crystals. The largest Chalcocite crystal reaches 2 cm across which is significant for the species, and more so given its overall quality of shape. The whole specimen is crystallized Chalcocite as interlocking platy crystals. A world-class Chalcocite and unusually aesthetic for this grey species.","brand":"Crystal Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46792327561391,"sku":"CC26702","price":4250.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0710\/8516\/2671\/files\/CC26702.png?v=1782210772","url":"https:\/\/crystalclassics.com\/products\/chalcocite-67","provider":"Crystal Classics","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
