Individual crystals measure up to about 6 mm long, have both horizontal and longitudinal striations and a glassy to slightly waxy lustre. The crystals form a small dome with a cleaved flat base and when viewed from certain angles are seen to be partly reticulated. A 2.5 x 1 cm patch of blackened Cerussite contains finely disseminated inclusions of Galena.
