{"product_id":"calcite-with-dolomite-4","title":"CALCITE with DOLOMITE","description":"Tsumeb mine has produced some remarkable crystallized Calcite specimens but these are often only known about to experienced collectors, as the distraction of rare species sometimes sidetracks others into thinking that Tsumeb is only for exotic minerals. This superb cabinet-sized display specimen is nice in showing a slightly more unusual pale orange colour and in quite distinctive blocky crystals, the largest of which reaches over 5 cm in size and shows a doubly-terminated nail-head habit with a very short prism in between. There is a chip to one side of this crystal, but all of its other edges are pristine and from the display direction it looks wonderful. A little pearlescent white Dolomite, as small curved rhombic crystals coating small pieces of matrix sits underneath the large Calcite crystals and adds a 'touch of Tsumeb' to the piece. There is also an area of green matrix underneath one edge, which could well be Mottramite, Duftite or one of the other well-known secondary species seen alongside Calcite at Tsumeb mine.
