This form is termed Sand-Calcite and is instantly recognizable as from Fontainebleau.  It is a fantastic example of a beautiful, symmetrically crystallized nodular cluster of Calcite crystals measuring overall to 4.5 cm.  The specimen is a floater, i.e., a group of sharp, rhombic crystals with no visible point of attachment.  Sand-Calcite is a fascinating variety of Calcite, especially when so beautifully crystallized.
