{"product_id":"calcite-271","title":"CALCITE","description":"Most Pallaflat mine Calcite crystals that we see available were mined during the 1890s, but this large individual crystal was collected in October 1975. At 8 cm in length this long, tapering, terminated crystal is not only a significant size, but is very nicely formed, other than its lowermost parts where it shows uneven surfaces from where it joined other similar crystals in a large bed or cavity. Its upper crystal faces show very fine natural striated surfaces and there are just a couple of areas of impact damage around the sides of its termination. Colourless and with glassy surfaces, internally it is translucent but not quite transparent, otherwise it would be priced significantly higher. With good lighting it presents extremely well.
