Even within a single species many varieties are known from Příbram, and this is certainly so for Calcite. This rather wonderful Calcite from the Příbram District has a really lovely appearance. Softly pink in colour, its bed of sharp, pointed scalenohedral crystals (individually to 2 cm in length) are complexly stepped, giving then an almost pearlescent sheen, and with very slightly darker tips they look very fine indeed. For such sharp crystals there is also remarkably little damage.
