{"product_id":"axinite-fe-15","title":"AXINITE-(Fe)","description":"Bourg d'Oisans was the first, and arguably the finest occurrence of the magnificent crystallized species Axinite - now split into Axinite-(Fe), Axinite-(Mg) and Axinite-(Mn). Known from the vicinity of Bourg d'Oisans since 1781, its name varied from \"Schorl violet\", \"Schorl transparent lenticulaire\" and \"Thumerstein\", until, in 1797, Rene Just Haüy proposed \"Axinit\" in reference to its sharp, bladed, axe-like crystals. Now known from many places worldwide, the crystals from Bourg d'Oisans remain some of the glassiest and sharpest known and this is ably demonstrated by this fine large miniature to smaller display specimen from Martin Kershaw's collection. Often, crystals from this classic, old-time locality, are chipped or have worn edges due to their significant age, but this piece is in terrific condition. There are, of course some small chips present on the razor-sharp bladed crystals, but they are really very fine. The largest crystal upon it reaches 2.9 cm in length and shows superb overall shape, with lovely linear growth lines. The crystals vary between dark smoky-brown to violet-brown in colour, but all are very glassy.","brand":"Crystal Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46793872703663,"sku":"CC56316","price":450.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0710\/8516\/2671\/files\/CC56316.png?v=1780999098","url":"https:\/\/crystalclassics.com\/products\/axinite-fe-15","provider":"Crystal Classics","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
