{"product_id":"algodonite","title":"ALGODONITE","description":"Copper arsenides are always pretty rare in nature and Algodonite is no exception. First discovered in 1857, in Chile, it is named after the Los Algodones mine near Coquimbo where it was found. Bizarrely, the location of the mine has never been established in modern times. Subsequent finds have shown that the remarkable basalt-hosted Native Copper deposits in Michigan, USA contained the world's richest Algodonite, although still rare. This small cabinet specimen from David Hardman's collection presents smooth, tarnished black Algodonite extending across most of the main surface and a little around to the side. This is certainly one of the least attractive minerals you will come across, but it is a rarity worldwide and this is a great example from the famous Mohawk mine where Mohawkite - a mixture of Algodonite, Domeykite and arsenic-rich copper - is found. For some unknown reason the specimen has a wedge cut out of it at one end, but it does at least allow the inside to be seen.","brand":"Crystal Classics","offers":[{"title":"Default Title","offer_id":46793773154479,"sku":"CC49682","price":200.0,"currency_code":"USD","in_stock":true}],"thumbnail_url":"\/\/cdn.shopify.com\/s\/files\/1\/0710\/8516\/2671\/files\/CC49682.png?v=1782818642","url":"https:\/\/crystalclassics.com\/products\/algodonite","provider":"Crystal Classics","version":"1.0","type":"link"}
